Introduction

Omivo is a real-time, two-way voice interpreter for online meetings, calls, and live conversations.

Omivo translates speech in both directions, in real time. You hear the other person in your language, and — when you turn on outbound translation — they hear you in theirs. It runs today as a Chrome/Edge browser extension, with a desktop app on the way.

What Omivo does

  • Two-way interpreting. Omivo treats a conversation as two sides — You and They — and interprets between the two languages you pick.
  • Live, low-latency. Speech is transcribed and re-spoken continuously while someone is still talking, instead of waiting for full sentences.
  • Works inside the apps you already use. Translated audio is delivered through a virtual microphone, so it shows up in Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Discord, and similar apps as if it were your mic.

How delivery works

Omivo handles the two directions separately:

  • Inbound — what the other person says is transcribed, translated, and read back to you as on-screen captions plus a spoken voice.
  • Outbound — what you say is translated and routed into the meeting through a virtual microphone that you select as your mic inside the meeting app. You can also pass your original voice through instead of the translation when you need to (see Outbound & virtual microphone).
